\(X\) et \(Y\) sont deux variables aléatoires indépendantes avec \(E(X) = 3\), \(V(X) = 2\), \(E(Y) = 5\) et \(V(Y) = 4\). Calcule \(E(X + Y)\), \(V(X + Y)\), \(E(2X - Y + 1)\) et \(V(2X - Y)\).
Voir la correction›
- \(E(X + Y) = 3 + 5 = \mathbf{8}\) ;
- \(V(X + Y) = 2 + 4 = \mathbf{6}\) (indépendance) ;
- \(E(2X - Y + 1) = 6 - 5 + 1 = \mathbf{2}\) ;
- \(V(2X - Y) = 4V(X) + V(Y) = 8 + 4 = \mathbf{12}\).
\(V(-Y) = (-1)^2 V(Y) = V(Y)\) : les variances s'ajoutent même quand on soustrait.
